The SAE J2412-2004 standard provides a test method for accelerated exposure of automotive interior parts using a controlled radiation Xenon-arc lamp device. The standard is based on SAE J1885 test parameters and does not include specific steps for test time, sample preparation and performance evaluation, which are provided by the material standards of different automobile manufacturers. The standard requires that the equipment should be approved by SAE J1885 to ensure the Reliability of the test results. During the test, the samples are exposed to Xenon-arc lamps under strictly controlled environment conditions to simulate the extreme environment in actual use. The standard also covers equipment calibrating, operating conditions, and sample conformity requirements to ensure that the aging performance of interior materials can be accurately predicted.
