This standard specifies the preparation method, inspection items and grading standards for the metallographic specimens of cast iron. The cast iron suitable for sand casting covers the determination of graphite morphology, creep rate, pearlite phosphorus eutectic and the evaluation of carbide quantity and grading. The sample preparation should avoid the casting surface to ensure that the surface of the sample is smooth and free of large scratches to maintain the original state of the tissue. This standard refers to the method of metal microstructure inspection in GB/T 13298.
