This standard describes the static volumetric method for the determination of methane isothermal adsorption/desorption in shale. It is suitable for the determination of methane adsorption in drying-based shale samples, equilibrated water-based shale samples and shale formations, and the determination of methane adsorption and conversion to free gas during shale gas production.
