ISO 7590-2018 specifies three methods for the determination of the total thickness and cladding thickness of wire rope conveyor belts. These include the Micrometer method (Methods A1 and A2) and the Optical inspection method (Method B). The Micrometer method applies to all wire rope conveyor belts, while the Optical inspection method is specifically used for the measurement of cover thickness and is not applicable where Spinning & weaving or metal weft is present.
