This standard specifies the high-frequency pulse voltage resistance test method for the performance of winding wires in atmospheric air using high-frequency pulse voltages, also known as corona resistance test methods. The standard includes test terms, definitions, test equipment, sample preparation, test procedures, test parameters and test records. Applicable winding wires include corona-resistant enameled round winding wires, grade 240 aromatic corona-resistant polyimide film wrapped sintered round, flat winding wires, Glass wire wrapped film wrapped flat winding wires and mica tape wrapped flat winding wires.
