This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for the strength of forward-facing passenger seats and their vehicle fasteners for passenger cars. Applicable to forward-facing passenger seats and their fasteners for class II, III and B passenger cars in class M and class M passenger cars, as well as restraint shelves and their fasteners installed in front of these seats. Not applicable to rear seats, lateral seats and their fasteners, nor to driver seats and their fasteners.
