This document covers methods for determining the toughness of ordinary abrasive ball milling such as corundum and silicon carbide. It is suitable for the determination of the toughness of ordinary abrasive ball milling with particle size F8 to F150. Normative reference documents include rolling bearing steel balls, detection and marking of abrasive particle size for consolidated abrasives, ordinary abrasive sampling methods, etc. In terms and definitions, ball milling toughness is defined as the ability of abrasive to resist ball milling crushing. Its value represents the ratio of the mass on the screen to the recovered mass of the sample multiplied by 100 after the sample has been ball milled and screened under specified conditions. In terms of equipment, the ball mill toughness tester is composed of a rotary drive device, a ball mill tank, and a steel ball. The rotary drive device requires a rotary speed of (75 +/-1) r/min, and the number of turns is continuously adjustable within (0~ 9 999) times, with an error of no more than 2 times. The ball mill tank requires a cavity size of φ 165 mm x 190 mm, and a volume of about 4000 cm ².
