This document describes in detail the methods for testing the Color, impurity, Markelon value, length and length uniformity index, clear crack strength and elongation at break of cotton fibers with a high-volume fiber tester. It is suitable for the physical performance testing of fine-staple cotton and long-staple cotton processed by roller or sawtooth processing. Normative reference documents include GB/T 6097, GB/T 6529 and GB/T 8170, etc. Terms and definitions include reflectance, yellow depth, number of impurity particles, percentage of impurity area and Markelon value, etc. The Markelon value is based on a series of cotton values determined by international agreement and is expressed using a subjectively determined scale.
