This part specifies the methods and principles for the determination of sulfur content in iron ore by combustion iodometry, which is applicable to the determination of sulfur content in natural iron ore, iron concentrate, sinter and pellet. Using tungsten trioxide mixed sample, heating in a high temperature furnace, the generated sulfur dioxide gas is absorbed and titrated, and the sulfur content in the sample is calculated by the volume of the potassium iodate solution consumed. Reagents include tungsten trioxide, muriatic acid, potassium iodide solution, starch solution and potassium iodate standard solution. Developing solvent using a nitrogen cylinder with a purity greater than 95%.
