ISO 2178-2016 "Non-magnetic coatings on magnetic substrates — Measurement of coating thickness — Magnetic method"

The standard specifies a technique for nondestructive measurement of nonmagnetic platings or coating thickness on a magnetic substrate using a magnetic method, suitable for paints, platings, enamels, etc. For measurement, the Probe is directly bonded to the coating surface to obtain a thickness reading through the principle of magnetic flux change or magnetic attraction.
