What is coating adhesion?

Coating adhesion is the minimum force required to fully adhere a layer of corrosion protection fluid to a metal substrate. More durable and chemically resistant coatings have higher coating adhesion and therefore corrosion protection.

Typically depends on the following properties of the substrate and fluid interface:

• atomic bond structure

• stress and elasticity

• Substrate Toughness

• Impurity content

• fluid thickness
  

Usually, these standards confer good adhesion to some extent. Improves adhesion by reducing internal stress, surface tension and removing surface impurities.
