1. Coating material library The Elcometer 500's professional measurement technology means you no longer need to know how thick the paint is, or set a measurement gate before taking a reading. Just turn on the instrument, select a coating from the calibration library and take a reading - it's that easy. |
2. Material thickness calibration To obtain great measurement accuracy, the Elcometer 500 can be calibrated using the known thickness of the coating being measured. If a known thickness sample is not available, the Elcometer 500 Coating Calibration Mold (CCM) can be used to create a known coating thickness, traceable to national and international standards. |
3. Sound speed calibration The Elcometer 500 can be calibrated by inputting the speed of sound from the paint manufacturer's product data sheet. |
