The PCE-950 is a handheld Hardness Tester used to determine the hardness of 10 different types of metals. Cast steel, forged steel, cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, cast iron, ductile iron, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze and wrought copper alloys. In addition to the Leeb hardness unit (HL), the metal Hardness Tester displays hardness measurement units for hardness measurement Rockwell C, Rockwell B, Rockwell A, Brinell hardness, Vickers and Shore hardness. In this dynamic hardness testing method, a small carbide ball hits the test surface. The ratio of springback to impact velocity is directly related to the hardness of the material and can be converted to different hardness scales (i.e., HRC, HRB, HRA, HB, HV, HS).
Thanks to the gauge's compact pocket-shaped ergonomic design and integrated impact device, hardness testing can be performed quickly and easily in the field and on the production site. An internal memory provides storage of up to 600 readings and includes PC-compatible software and a USB cable allowing for simple and efficient data transfer to a computer file and analysis of hardness test results. The PCE-950 Hardness Tester is a tool needed by machinists and manufacturing quality control and assurance professionals for incoming and outgoing inspections of metal parts.
