Introduction

The GZY-I drying time Recorder is an instrument manufactured to meet the specific requirements of the paint industry for testing paint drying time. The drying of paint and the final formation of the coating film is a slow and continuous process. In order to observe each stage of drying, it is necessary to use instruments with certain control conditions for measurement. The GZY-I drying time Recorder uses a scribing needle to draw across the coating at a constant speed and slowly, and the drying time can be evaluated by observing the trajectory formed on the surface of the coating film. The GZY-I drying time Recorder is easy to operate and can measure six samples at the same time, saving measurement time.

The main structure

The GZY-Film Applicator is driven by a stepper motor, which provides precise movement control. Six scribing needle clips are installed on the slide frame, and the movement of the sliding frame drives the scribing needle to move on the glass sheet coated with the new wet film. The instrument will automatically stop after the stroke. Lift up the pressure plate on the lower rear side of the carriage to manually move the carriage for reset. The front end of the instrument is equipped with a scale that facilitates conversion of moving distance and moving time. The GZY-I drying time Recorder has three different moving speeds to choose from.

Steps

1. Preparation work before test:

(1) The test should be conducted under constant temperature and humidity conditions.

(2) The instrument should be placed on a flat surface away from strong magnetic fields and strong electromagnetic pulse interference.

2. Operation method:

(1) Turn on the power and turn on the power switch at the rear of the instrument.

(2) If the carriage is not in the starting position on the left, you can lift the pressure plate on the lower rear side of the carriage and manually move the carriage to reset it.

(3) Install a suitable scribing needle (ball head or pointed head) on the scribing needle clip to keep the scribing needle rod vertical to the glass piece.

(4) Loosen the set screw on the bracket, remove the glass piece, and prepare a wet film on the glass piece (the wet film should comply with relevant standards or meet the requirements agreed between the buyer and the seller).

(5) Put the glass piece back on the bracket and tighten the set screw at one end appropriately.

(6) Put down the needle clip so that the needle is in contact with the new coating layer.

(7) Select the appropriate speed gear, press the corresponding button, and the carriage begins to move slowly to the right. If you need to change the selection at this time, you need to press the stop button before selecting again. After the specified time, the instrument will automatically stop and give a beeping sound.

(8) Evaluate the results corresponding to each drying stage of the observed trajectory. The drying time can be converted from the scale on the edge of the instrument.

Note: As shown in the figure, the coating begins to dry out after 2 hours of testing (at the beginning of track ③); by 5 hours it is fully dry (at the beginning of track ⑤, the track disappears).

Precautions

After the GZY-I drying time Recorder has been used for a period of time, the screw rod and sliding rod in the instrument should be properly lubricated from the openings on both sides.
