Introduction

MODERNER JM-V abrasIon Meter (paint film configuration) is used to test the wear resistance of coatings and paints. It is driven by a stepper motor and has programmable control. The LCD displays the working parameters and operating status of the abrasIon Meter. The JM-V abrasIon Meter is manufactured with reference to the GB/1768 paint film wear resistance test parameters, and takes into account the GB/1757 wood wear resistance test parameters, providing a multi-purpose wear resistance test method. Product principle

The abrasIon Meter is to contact two abrasion grinding wheels with a specified distance apart from the specimen sample installed on a horizontal turntable, so that the central axes of the two grinding wheels and the central axis of the turntable are not in the same plane. When the turntable rotates, the abrasive grinding wheel on the left produces friction from the outside to the center of the sample surface, while the abrasive grinding wheel on the right produces friction from the center of the sample surface to the outside. When the turntable rotates continuously, a series of intersecting ring friction marks are formed on the surface of the sample. Using this kind of wear arrangement, the surface of the sample is rubbed in all directions, which avoids the obvious directional defects caused by the friction of the abrasIon Meter that reciprocates in one direction, making the wear evaluation more objective.

The JM-V wear meter is driven by a stepper motor, which avoids rotational speed changes caused by grid Voltage fluctuations, greatly improves the stability of the working speed of the wear meter, and makes wear evaluation more comparable.

Product instructions and maintenance

1. Preparations before starting:

⑴ Calibrate the horizontal position of the JM-V abrasIon Meter. The switch should be in the "off" position, and then plug in the power. Note that the ground terminal on the power socket needs to be connected to the ground wire.

⑵ Plug in the vacuum cleaner plug, insert the vacuum cleaner hose into the vacuum cleaner interface on the left side of the JM-V abrasIon Meter , and adjust the height of the vacuum cleaner tube (loosen the bolt on the back of the main unit) so that the vacuum nozzle is 1 to 2mm away from the surface of the sample. After adjustment, tighten the bolts.

⑶ When installing the wear grinding wheel, you need to unscrew the grinding wheel fixing nut first, wipe off the dust on the shaft, then install the grinding wheel that meets the regulations and tighten the nut.

⑷ Install the required load weight on the front end of the pressure arm.   

⑸ When placing the sample plate, first unscrew the nut on the turntable, take out the washer, and install the sample plate; put in the washer and tighten the nut; then gently lower the pressure arm and the vacuum tube at the same time.

⑹ Add a balancing weight to the pin at the end of the pressure arm:

Balance weight weight = grinding wheel weight - pin weight 20 grams

For example: if the weight of the grinding wheel is 28 grams, a balance weight of 8 grams needs to be added (the pin has been fixed on the JM-V abrasIon Meter )

2. Run:

⑴ When the power switch is turned on, the buzzer emits a "beep" sound, indicating that the JM-V abrasIon Meter self-checks and is working normally.

⑵ Then the LCD displays: manufacturer name, instrument model, website address, product serial number, date of manufacture, operation summary (please select the running speed, enter the set number of turns, and then press the run button)

⑶ Then the LCD enters the operation interface and displays:

"Operating speed: 60 r/min"

"Set lap number: "

"Number of operating cycles: 0000"

"Cumulative times: 00"

    The default running speed of JM-V abrasIon Meter is 60r/min. If you want to adjust the running speed to 70r/min, just click the "speed selection" button. If you press the button again, the operating speed will return to 60r/min.

⑷ Press the numeric keys on the keyboard to enter the numbers in sequence corresponding to the hundreds and ten digits of the set circle number. If the number of operating cycles is less than 1,000, "0" should be entered in the digit of thousands. For example, if you want to calculate 500 revolutions, you should enter "0500" and only enter "500". The JM-V wear meter will think that the input is missing one digit and refuse to start the operation.

If you accidentally press a function key, "Input Invalid" will be displayed on the LCD, and you can continue to enter numbers. The buzzer will make a "beep" sound every time a digit is entered, indicating that the input is valid, otherwise it means it is invalid. If you find that you have entered a wrong number, please press the "Cancel Number Setting" button, and the number after "Set Number of Circles" will be canceled immediately. If you confirm that the input is correct, please press the "Run" button. At this time, the turntable will run immediately. Each time it rotates, the "number of rotations" will automatically increase by 1. When the number of running circles is the same as the set number, the turntable will automatically stop running. At this time, the buzzer will sound a "beep-beep-beep" alarm sound, and the "accumulated number of times" will automatically increase by 1. The "number of operating laps" is automatically cleared. Counting starts from zero the next time it is started. This counting method is particularly suitable for multiple cycles of repeated operation of the abrasIon Meter. For example: 500 revolutions for 15 cycles, as long as "15" is displayed in the "Cumulative number of times", it means that 15 cycles have been carried out according to the "Set number of revolutions", and there is no need to count manually.

⑸ Press the "Operating Clear" and "Accumulated Clear" buttons to clear the numbers in "Running Circles" and "Accumulated Times" respectively. If you press the "Stop" button during operation, the turntable will stop immediately. The originally set number and the number of laps run are retained. To continue working, just press the "Run" button, and the wear meter will continue to run until the set number of revolutions.

Precautions for use

⑴ After the test, the power supply should be cut off, the abrasIon Meter should be cleaned immediately , and the abrasIon Meter should be covered to prevent dust and moisture.

⑵ When not in use for a long time, the grinding wheel should be removed and put away.

⑶ The JM-V abrasIon Meter needs to be inspected and refueled once every one to two years of use .
