ISO 4624-2002 "Paints and varnish Pull-up Adhesion Testing" specifies three methods for assessing the adhesion of a Coating system by tensile testing: applying tensile force on one or two low-padded carts, and using two low-padded carts, one of which serves as the Coating substrate. These methods are suitable for comparing the adhesion performance of single or multi-layer Coatings on different substrates. The standard also provides test procedures for different substrates such as deformable metals, plastics and wood, as well as rigid concrete and metal sheets. To prevent the substrates from deforming during testing, sandwich structures are usually used. ISO 4624 is suitable for a wide range of applications where coating adhesion needs to be assessed, providing reliable technical methods and standardized test conditions.
