This standard specifies a dithiohydrazone Spectrophotometric method, spec-trophotometry, for the determination of trace amounts of cadmium in natural water and wastewater. This method is suitable for the determination of cadmium concentrations in samples between 1 and 50 μg/L, and the red complex generated by Chloroform extraction is determined by spectrophotometry at 518 nm wavelength. Sensitivity of this method is suitable for the determination of cadmium content in environmental pollution monitoring.
