This standard specifies the method for the determination of iridium content in iridium compounds. It is applicable to a variety of iridium compounds, such as chloroiridic acid, iridium trichloride, iridium tetrachloride, etc. The measurement range is 8% to 60% iridium content. The specimen is treated by nitric acid and muriatic acid. Titration is carried out using ferrous sulfate standard solution in acidic medium and the endpoint is indicated by electrometry.
