This standard specifies a method for the determination of sulphur content in zinc concentrates. The applicable range is 20.00%~ 40.00% sulphur content. The method makes sulfide oxidation to sulphur dioxide by combustion of the sample in a high temperature oxygen stream, and then its oxidation to sulfuric acid. Sulphur dioxide is absorbed using a hydrogen peroxide solution, and the sulphur content is determined by titration with a sodiumhydrate standard titration solution by mixing indicators of methyl red and methylene blue until the Color of the solution changes from purple to green. Technical conditions ensure that coexisting elements do not interfere with the determination of sulfur.
