This standard specifies two methods for the determination of sulfur content in ferrovanadium: infrared absorption method and combustion neutralized Titrimetric method. It is suitable for the determination of sulfur content in ferrovanadium in the range of 0.005% to 0.120%. The infrared absorption method generates sulfur dioxide from oxygen combustion samples in a high-frequency induction furnace, and uses an infrared analyzer to determine the concentration of sulfur dioxide to determine the sulfur content. The combustion neutralized Titrimetric method involves the conversion of sulfur to sulfate and is determined with a standard titration solution. The standard details the principles, reagents and material requirements of the two methods to ensure the accuracy and conformity of the measurement results.
