This standard specifies two methods for the determination of manganese content in ferrotitanium: arsenite-nitrite Titrimetric method and periodate photometric method. The arsenite-nitrite Titrimetric method is suitable for manganese content in the range of 1.00% to 4.00%. Its principle is to calculate the manganese content by the reaction of sodium arsenite-sodium nitrite standard titration solution with manganese in oxidation. The periodate photometric method is suitable for manganese content in the range of 0.10% to 1.50%. The manganese Ion concentration after the oxidation of periodate is determined by photometer. The standard also lists the specification requirements of the required reagents and materials to ensure the accuracy and Reliability of the determination results.
