This standard specifies the ammonium persulfate oxidation Titrimetric method and the potential Titrimetric method for the determination of chromium content in ferrochromium and silicochromium alloys. It is suitable for samples with a chromium content range of 25.00% to 80.00%. In the ammonium persulfate oxidation Titrimetric method, the sample is subjected to acid analysis or alkali melting, and chromium is oxidized with ammonium persulfate, and chromium is reduced with ferrous sulfate ammonium standard solution. Finally, reverse titration is performed with potassiumhy permanganate standard solution. This method is suitable for handling acid-insoluble samples. The standard also includes the relevant steps and reagent requirements for using the potential Titrimetric method.
