This standard specifies the use of infrared absorption method and combustion neutralized Titrimetric method for the determination of sulfur content in ferrotungsten. It is suitable for the determination of sulfur content in the mass fraction range of 0.0050% to 0.25%. The infrared absorption method generates sulfur dioxide by heating the sample with oxygen flow in a high-frequency induction furnace. Absorbance measurement is used to determine the sulfur content. The combustion neutralized Titrimetric method reacts the sulfur dioxide produced by the combustion of the sample with known reagents and calculates the sulfur content by titration. Reagents and materials include perchloric acid mg, caustic soda asbestos, Glass wool, etc., to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results.
