This standard specifies a method for the determination of silver content in silver alloys, which is suitable for a variety of silver alloys, including AgCu, AgCuZnMnNi, etc. The method uses nitric acid to dissolve the sample. Potentiometric titration, poten-tiometry of sodium chloride standard solution is carried out in nitric acid medium using silver electrode and silver iodide electrode. The potential change of the silver electrode indicates the end point, and the mass fraction of silver is accurately determined. This method is suitable for alloys with silver content ranging from 50% to 99.5%.
