The ISO 787-16 standard specifies a method for determining the relative Color-Strength (or equivalent chromadizing value) of pigments and whitening agents, as well as the reduced Color of colored pigments, using the visual comparison method. This method is suitable for similar colored pigments, and their Color-Strength and reduced Color are evaluated by comparison with the agreed sample. During the test, the sample is mixed with the white pigment to form a diluted slurry, and visually compared with the standard sample to determine the relative Color-Strength and Color change. The standard is widely used in the quality control and Product Research & Development of pigments and whitening agents.
