TAPPI T 811 is a standard test method for the determination of edge compression strength (ECT) of corrugated fibreboards using short column testing. This method is suitable for single-wall, double-wall and three-wall corrugated fibreboards. The compression performance during Encasement and transportation is evaluated by measuring the compressire strength of the Cardboard in the direction perpendicular to the corrugation. In the test, a rectangular specimen is placed between the pressure plates of the Compression Tester, and pressure is applied until the specimen collapses, and the maximum pressure value is recorded. The standard provides a scientific basis for the quality control and performance evaluation of corrugated fibreboards and is an important reference for the Encasement industry.
