GB/T 12599-2002 "Metal Coatings, Tin Platings Technical Specifications and Test Methods" standard stipulates that tin platings on metal products should meet the requirements of anti-corrosion and improved solderability. The standard applies to various metal products, including platings treated by melting method after Eletroplating. But it does not apply to specific products such as threaded parts, tinned copper wires, etc. This standard emphasizes the appearance requirements of platings, including no visible defects, smooth and clean surfaces. In addition, test methods and requirements such as thickness measurement, adhesion strength, porosity and solderability are specified to ensure that platings mass meets the standard requirements. The implementation of this standard is subject to the relevant national regulations on tin platings for the food industry, and Appendix C provides additional information for users' reference.
